The Daily Dachshund and Dog News hopes everything will turn out okay for Pinky, the missing Dachshund, in spite of South Africa’s Doxie crime wave.

“Lord, please look after Pinky. He is not streetwise and won’t survive on the streets.”

This was the prayer of Jeanne van Rensburg from Waterkloof Ridge in Pretoria, after Pinky, her dachshund, went missing on New Year’s Eve.

“My heart is broken.

“I’ll do anything to get Pinky back,” she said.

She said she and her husband Pieter have had Pinky for eight years, and the dog was like a child to them.

Adorable, friendly

“My husband had a stroke in 2000 and somebody gave him to us as a present. Pieter depends on Pinky to guard him.”
