Therapy Dachshund helps in shooting aftermath

On the day after another mass shooting — this time at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb — I would like, first and foremost, to extend my deepest sympathies to the families and friends of the dead and injured. I think everyone wishes that we didn’t have situations like these in which to send therapy dogs like Gus the Dachshund. But given that we do, it’s good to know that some people are able to derive comfort from the work of these dogs and their trainers.

Here is a video featuring Gus and composed of Witness Testimonials in support of the Paws Up Canine Crisis Support program. Produced by Jason Birnstihl

As both an NIU Huskie and a dachshund owner this is an especially a heartwarming story to hear. Thank you for posting it, and thank you to all therapy pets (and their humans) for the service and comfort they provide
