This definitely has the makings of a Youtube classic. Call it the Balloon Hunter or maybe the Wiener Dog Balloon Hunter. The Daily Doxie welcomes your video title suggestions in the comments.

In this first video, all the dog-on-ferret action takes place within the first minute or so, so you don’t have to stay tuned for the whole thing.

Way more rough trade with this wiener dog/feret pair:

Who knew that the wiener dog/ferret combination was so popular? I blame Jennifer Aniston, who, before she co-starred with a golden labrador, made a movie with a ferret.

Keeping ferrets as pets strikes the Daily Doxie as pretty weird, almost as weird with these people with their puppy-preying monkey.

Apparently, yes — if they belong to famous artists.

Ok, it’s not a wiener dog but Chiweenies are popular here at the Daily Dachshund and Cesar Millan is a total hottie, and it’s Friday.

And wouldn’t you know that they would just have to disappear during a high-traffic period.

Many thanks to the alert reader who clued me in. I just thought I was unpopular.

The incident took place in the Houston area. From this report, it sounds as if the authorities aren’t exactly overly concerned.

Reminds us again of how wrong that ridiculous study was that claimed Dachshunds were the most aggressive dogs.

In Open Season, Mr. Weenie got left behind in the woods. In the sequel, his family comes back for him and it’s not a happy reunion.

A cautionary note to all you Ashton Kutcher fans, Demi’s boy toy is not back for the sequel.

Although the Daily Doxie has already run its regular winter fashion report, we felt we needed another one given the very cold weather that just doesn’t seem to let up. The sweater wardrobe above belongs to Dobby, one extremely lucky and chic wiener dog, who can be seen in a “Big Bird”-style sweater below.

Most of Dobby’s sweaters are homemade, but if you’re not up to it, you might want to check out the Dachshund fashions at Noodle and Friends, tailored specially for long dog bodies. I’m partial to the Red Riding Hood winter coat with its military-influenced accents and I also love the sunshine spring rain coat, but that may be wishful thinking.
