The Poles love dogs and especially wiener dogs. According to the local English newspaper, each year at Krakow’s Dachshund parade, a local artist is awarded for the best dachshund-related masterpiece, and a local writer is selected as the winner of the literary competition. This year, Witold Witkowski took the latter prize with his poetic ode to the sausage dog.” Can anyone get the Daily Doxie a copy of this poem? We promise to publish it in its full glory.

Also, is it just me or does it appear that there are still a lot of standard-sized Polish Dachshunds and the miniature wiener has not taken over as it has here?
